We are Oklahoma Hogstead Farm, your source for quality Idaho Pasture Pigs.
Our names are Charles and Lisa Bridgeforth, and we can't wait to get you started on the rewarding journey of producing your own delicious pork!
Nestled in Wanette, Oklahoma on 10 acres of oak-dotted land, our farm is a labor of love. Specializing in the Idaho Pasture Pig (IPP) — a gentle, grazing breed developed by crossing Old Berkshire, Duroc, and Kunekune — we are one of just a handful of registered IPP breeders in the state.
Our focus is on ethical, pasture-based raising that lets the pigs forage on acorns, grasses, and supplemental scraps while rotating through paddocks. This approach yields flavorful, well-marbled pork and supports the pigs' needs to live happy, healthy lives. With cozy, handmade A-frame shelters, natural wallows, and lots of upcoming farrowings, the farm embodies hands-on homesteading. We've dedicated ourselves to embracing the endless chores and learning curves, sharing our journey through videos and our Facebook page to connect with fellow enthusiasts.
Oklahoma Hogstead Farm isn’t just about raising pigs — it’s about sustainable living, quality meat, and building a community around a special breed that thrives on pasture. Whether you’re seeking feeders, breeding stock, or inspiration for your own small farm, we're down for the conversation!

Small, New-ish Family Farm
We aren't a dyed-in-the-wool farming family... we're small, new, and constantly exploring innovative ways of doing things. That means that we're happy to embrace emerging breeds like the Idaho Pasture Pig if they fit our lifestyle and needs AND cutting-edge managment practices, like rotational grazing and limited inputs to foster resilience in our herd.

Premium Pork Production
The Idaho Pasture Pig produces pork that's deep red, well-marbled, and full of flavor. Their tendency to forage well lends to healthy weight gain on little input, especially in forested settings with ample nuts and acorns.

Natural Animal Husbandry
At Oklahoma Hogstead, we believe that Nature knows best and we operate in a way that makes room for Her to guide us. That means embracing natural parasite management and using observation of our herd in natural elements to guide our selection of quality breeders.
After years of exploring other breeds, the Idaho Pasture Pig has firmly embedded itself on our farm as the ideal homestead hog. Their temperaments, adequate size (without being overwhelming) and ability to yield tremendous gains off our land without excessive digging sealed the deal. They're here to stay at Oklahoma Hogstead Farm.
We're located in south-central Oklahoma near the community of Wanette.
